Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said after their 2-0 win over Aston Villa that secured two points in a row to start the 2024/25 Premier League season.
Arsenal got a brace through Leandro Trotsar and Thomas Partey, while David Raya earned praise from the coach for his superb saves that kept the team from conceding a goal before being crowned the winner.
“I am very happy. It is a very difficult game to come to a great team with good organisation and individual performances. They can hurt us at any time. I think over the last week we all had something to think about because of last year’s performance, but I like to do that because it is what makes us come here to show our performance.”
Everybody played with a lot of personality. Aston Villa had a defensive approach than what we expected, but we adapted and the team played with a lot of courage,” Arteta said to ทางเข้า ufabet.
“Again, when you need individuals they stood up and they made themselves count – that’s why we won the game.”
“We had to change momentum, we had a 10-minute gap when we didn’t get the rhythm and they were on top.
“The save from David Raya was unbelievable and it was the turning point of the game. I thought it was going to be a goal because I saw the reaction from the defenders and nobody moved because it hit the bar and everyone was looking at the ball. All I could do was say no, please. Then I saw the striker try to score. Normally it would be a goal but Raya’s save was incredible,” Arteta said.
