Timo Werner, striker of the German national team Delighted to work with Hansi Flick and insists he doesn’t care about criticism over his goalscoring form,
The 25-year-old striker recently showed great form to score two goals in his side’s win over North Macedonia. 4-0 and it was the fifth goal in their last five appearances for the new manager.
“Working with Hansi Flick has been fantastic. I’ve said many times that trusting a coach can help every player. He has 100 per cent trust in me and hopefully I can compensate for it with my performance on the pitch,” Werner said after the game.
But Werner’s arrival was not as good as expected. In his first season, the Bleeding forward made 35 league appearances but only scored six goals, and in 12 European games he has scored. 4 goals overall in all competitions in the 2020-2021 season, scoring 11 goals in 48 appearances on the field, it is a huge disappointment for the “Blues” fans to have booed the striker.
Although he has a good record for the national team lately, he has always been criticized for finishing goals.
“If I’m thinking too much about these things, I probably won’t be able to play here. That’s why I ignored it. Today I am very happy to help the team.”
